Parks Operations Division

Applications are invited for Parks Workers for Temporary Full-Time and Casual assignments in the Parks Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department.   Parks Workers perform a variety of manual duties in the maintenance of floral areas, turf, sports fields, playgrounds and related areas and the maintenance and minor repairs of park buildings.

$29.08 per hour (2019 C.U.P.E rate)

Temporary Full- Time hours are 40 hours per week
Casual hours are up to 40 hours per week
(Primarily Monday to Friday, but some weekend shifts may be required)

Temporary Full-Time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment.  Casual employees are paid 12.5% of their regular earnings in lieu of all benefits.  

The successful candidates will have Grade 12 plus experience in general construction and maintenance of parks and other landscape work.  B.C. Parks industry related training is desirable.  A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License is required. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Police Information Check before commencing employment.  Details of the position and its requirements can be found in the job description at the following link:
