Deputy Treasurer

Regular Full Time

Due to an upcoming retirement, the District of Hudson’s Hope invites applications from qualified persons for the regular full-time position of Deputy Treasurer

Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer (CAO), who holds accountability for financial administration (CC, Section 149), the Deputy Treasurer is responsible for but not limited to: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Property Tax, Budget and the annual Audit.    Given the breadth of responsibilities, a sound knowledge of accounting principles, municipal procedures and employment regulations is required.  The work is performed under minimal supervision, so independent judgment and action is exercised by the Deputy Treasurer in matters that are within the framework of established procedures.

The successful candidate will be required to become a member of the BC Government & Service Employees’ Union and be entitled to the established rate of pay of $39.83 per hour (2020 rate is not yet finalized).   A comprehensive benefits package will be provided as well after the successful completion of the 90-day probationary period.  The detailed job description can be obtained upon request.

Applications with a detailed résumé of work experience, education and qualifications will be received at the municipal office until 4:30 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2020. Preference will be given to qualified internal applicants.  The District thanks all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
