ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Policy & Business Services (Engineering and Public Works) will provide high level, strategic and financial support. The Manager is responsible for coordinating Engineering’s operating and capital budgets, analyzing expenditures, assisting with cost sharing negotiations with external organizations, and preparing a variety of reports on engineering financial matters. The position will also undertake a variety of financial analyses on complex projects and billing practices from Metro Vancouver.
This exciting role requires both an understanding of engineering and public works and financial planning preferably in a local government setting. The successful candidate will showcase excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively across stakeholders and community groups. Considerable independent leadership, innovation and judgment are required in managing, planning and organizing the key responsibilities of this role.
In addition to professional qualifications in Business, Public Administration, Accounting/Finance, Engineering and/or another relevant discipline, the successful candidate possess a minimum of 5 years of related experience within a municipal or regional government setting.
