Fleet Supervisor - RCMP


This administrative, supervisory and cost control work in overseeing the operation of the Surrey Detachment’s fleet of vehicles. The incumbent develops and administers a cost effective preventative fleet maintenance program to service the vehicles.

As the Fleet Supervisor, you will:
  • Plan, assign, review, coordinate and supervise the work of subordinate staff.
  • Participate in the selection process for new employees and provide training.
  • Provide input on performance reviews of subordinate staff.
  • Develop, prepare and present to management the 5 year budget plan.
  • Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with vehicle replacement and procurement.
  • Analyze cost effectiveness of equipment and vehicle repairs; approve repairs based on a variety of criteria such as mileage, repair records, and replacement costs.
  • Collect, compile and evaluate information related to current status or changes in fleet management operations
  • Maintain inventory and support of frequently used parts for onsite repairs.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of correspondence, records, files and statistics.
  • Perform other job related duties, as required.

Qualifications:
As the successful candidate, you will have;
  • A Grade 12 Diploma and Automotive Mechanics Trades Qualification
  • Considerable experience as a qualified mechanic plus related experience in fleet administration and supervision.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a safe driving record
