Court Liaison Clerk
The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Court Liaison Clerk. Under the direction of the Manager, Police Support Services and under the general supervision of the Operational Support NCO RCMP, the incumbent acts as liaison between the RCMP and all court-related agencies. The Court Liaison Clerk is responsible for the electronic submission and quality assurance of court documents and the ongoing maintenance of all court files from the Nanaimo Detachment.
Applicants must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, basic police training and have a minimum of 4 years’ operational policing experience or experience within a criminal legal system, court, or police environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Applicants must have attainment and maintenance of RCMP Security Clearance, a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Special Provincial Constable designation for document service and a Commissioner for taking affidavits in British Columbia designation.
This is a unionized position. $35.57 per hour - after Probation (Jan 2020 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week. A comprehensive benefit package is included.
