West Vancouver Transit (Blue Bus) is calling for applications from drivers wishing to be considered for Part-Time and Casual Community Bus Operator positions. The Transit Community Bus Operator is a key representative of a transit organization rich in history, dedicated to customer service, safety, and reliability. The Community Bus Operator must be capable of accomplishing multiple tasks in a complex environment while demonstrating superior communication skills to deal effectively with the public. While working under established policies and procedures, the Community Bus Operator will work closely with departmental staff and must be able to exercise discretion and sound judgement.

Applications will be accepted from those with a minimum Class 4 unrestricted Driver’s Licence, exemplary driving and accident record, proven experience in customer service/hospitality, and adaptable to a flexible work schedule. The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check and to complete a pre-employment Medical Assessment with a Municipal Physician.

Position Status:
Union (ATU) – Part Time & Casual

Hours of Work:
Part Time: 28-35 hours per week
Casual: Up to 24 hours per week
Shift times are variable according to shift demands. All shifts will start and end on the North Shore.

Rate of Pay:
$21.86 per hour for the first 6 months - $23.49 per hour thereafter (2019 Rates)
