The City of Quesnel is looking for a Landfill Manager to join our Public Works team. Reporting to the Director of Public Works Operations, is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Quesnel Landfill, including all budgeting, long-term planning, recycling and waste diversion initiatives for the facility. This person will lead a team of unionized staff to achieve excellence in solid waste operations. This role ensures the site is operated in a safe, efficient manner year round while adhering to environmental and regulatory requirements. This position requires contract management experience, strong leadership and organizational skills.
Must have an undergraduate degree in natural resource science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field (an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered); five (5) years of related experience in solid waste management; three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a unionized environment; specialized training in solid waste management, such as certification by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), is preferred.

This position has a salary of $$85,000 and includes a comprehensive benefit package, Municipal Pension Plan and relocation assistance.
