Program Technician - Aquatics
Auxiliary Relief Position
Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking an individual to assist in aquatic program delivery and development. The successful incumbent will support aquatic lesson and guard services as well as other general pool operations.
Requirements include completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; minimum one year experience in leadership in an aquatic setting including six months supervisory experience; program specialty certifications (National Lifeguard Service Certification - Pool Option; Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification; Standard First Aid and CPR – Level C with AED current within one year); valid B.C. Driver’s Licence; satisfactory police information check and Occupational First Aid Level 1 as required. Water Safety Instructor Trainer, First Aid Instructor and/or National Lifeguard Instructor Certification is considered an asset.
The successful candidate will be required to work varying shifts including daytime, evenings and weekends, up to 10 hours per week (hours/shifts are subject to change).
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $31.50 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
