Summary
Under the supervision of the Fitness, Weights and Rehabilitation Coordinator, the Fitness Instructor will deliver high quality group fitness classes that meet the needs of our diverse community on the Saanich Peninsula.  The instructor must have the skill to plan a safe and effective fitness class that is both motivating and challenging for the participants.  The instructor must also have the skill to incorporate choreography to music and utilize various exercise apparatus such as balls, tubes, bands and light-weights into the lesson plan if necessary. The instructor must follow all policies, procedures and standards of Panorama Recreation and the CRD.

This position requires an acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent will be required to undergo a criminal record check in order to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment in this position.

Qualifications
  • BCRPA Group Fitness Module or equivalent
  • BCRPA Fitness Theory or equivalent
  • Current CPR-C
  • Customer Service and Public Relations experience
  • Ability to instruct a variety of classes including Hi Lo Choreography, Step, Total Body Conditioning, TRX, HIIT, and Spin (Indoor Cycling).
  • Excellent communications (verbal and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.
