About The Opportunity:
In this diverse role, you will provide technical support for the efficient operation of the City potable water supply and distribution system, wastewater collection and treatment system, streetlight, and traffic controller infrastructure.  You will be the go-to expert for technical support for computer modeling, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) as well as for the integration and management of operational components for the water, wastewater, streetlight and traffic controller systems.  You will work on capital and utilities projects, generate reports, supervise the collection of data and liaise with consultants and construction crews in the course of your daily responsibilities.  You are able to be on stand by for call-outs after hours and on weekends.

About Your Background:
You are a highly motivated professional with a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, along with an AScT designation.  You have at least five years’ experience developing, troubleshooting and maintaining SCADA systems as well as doing the programming and instrumentation work for water and wastewater systems. Computerized maintenance experience is preferred.  You also have experience with power sources including solar, hydro and generators and with programming and tuning UHF and VHF radio equipment.  Design and management of water and wastewater systems experience is preferred along with relevant experience in the programming of traffic controllers.  Local government experience would be an assetA valid BC Driver's License, full privilege Class 5 (or out of province equivalent) is required.
