The City of Richmond is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to carry out administrative work in relation to planning, developing, coordinating and delivering a variety of social, cultural and recreational programs and services for the seniors population. This role is ideal for those who possess extensive knowledge of the recreational and wellness needs and interests of the community.

We are looking for someone that has:

  • Ability to oversee the coordination, planning, organizing, delivering, promoting and evaluation of activities and services within a facility.
  • Experience with providing support to staff and community partners in the delivery of citywide seniors programming.
  • Experience with preparing, administering and managing budgets and contracts, as well as minor and major capital project requests.
  • Ability to prepare reports, memos, emails, grant applications and other correspondence, for a wide range of internal and external clients.
  • Experience establishing and facilitating communication networks, collaborating with community stakeholders.
  • Ability to recruit, interview, supervise, lead, mentor, delegate, coordinate and schedule the work of staff and volunteers.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Completion of a 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, including or supplemented by courses specialized in recreation services or gerontology.
  • Up to 5 years supervisory experience in a recreation facility or seniors centre, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
