The City of Port Coquitlam is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals who are interested in the full time opportunity of Engineering Technologist Civil to join the Infrastructure Planning group.

This is advanced technical field and office work involving the assessment of, and long term planning for municipal servicing infrastructure including road, drainage, sanitary sewer, and water works. The work includes maintaining utility infrastructure models using various assessing emerging and future needs; assisting in the development of the capital works and asset management programs; completing engineering-related technical assignments, investigations and, requests for service by the public; and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.

The successful candidate for this position will have:
  • Graduated from an Institute of Technology with a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, supplemented by safety, environmental and other related courses;
  • Three years of utility modeling and asset management experience in municipal engineering in areas such as streets, drainage, sanitary sewer works, and water works engineering;
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License;
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (ASTT) of BC as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT); and
  • Previous municipal engineering experience is considered an asset.

The terms and conditions of employment for this full time position are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement. The 2019 annual salary for this position starts at $70K and includes a comprehensive benefit package upon successful completion of a four-month probationary period.
