This is an exciting opportunity to join the Roads & Drainage division of our Engineering department as a Labourer and begin your municipal career! Current opportunities offer full-time hours for assignments from February to August, with the possibility of extension or re-call in the following year.
Duties of Labourers working in our Roads and Drainage division include, but are not restricted to:
- A variety of manual tasks in the maintenance and construction of sidewalks, roadways and drainage facilities
- Work with asphalt and concrete
- Roadway and sidewalk maintenance
- Vegetation control and rough landscaping
- Snow and ice control work
- Other related duties as required
The position requires knowledge and skills in the methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in general construction and maintenance work. Applicants should highlight labouring, concrete, framing, forming, construction, and asphalt experience as well as any apprenticeship status held or certifications (first aid, post-secondary, etc.) Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia, Class 5, is required (Class 3 with air brake endorsement is preferred).
