Building Service Worker I

Three Auxiliary Relief Positions
 

The Facility Operations Division is seeking a Building Service Worker I to perform custodial care, cleaning and daily maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities. This position requires sound knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures and experience with up-to-date cleaning methods, minor building and equipment repair, and the use, care and upkeep of the materials and equipment used. 

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Building Service Worker Level 1; hard floor and carpet care certification as required; three months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; Occupational First Aid Level I as required and a satisfactory police information check.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This is casual, on-call work for everyday of the week, including weekends, afternoon shifts.  Monday to Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.; Friday 2:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $26.76 per hour and an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
