To further support the continuing growth of this great city, HRM has created the new position of Executive Director of Corporate Support Services to ensure that all corporate support services Business Units across HRM are delivering enhanced, integrated and effective solutions to enable Operational Business Units to deliver superior service to our citizens.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Executive Director will provide executive leadership and oversight to a broad portfolio comprising Finance, ICT, Legal, Corporate and Customer Services, Human Resources, Public Safety, and Diversity and Inclusion.  Provide advice to Council, the CAO and Executive Team and ensure the portfolio is responsive to Council directions and changing service level priorities and objectives.  Provide innovative vision and strategic direction to enhance internal customer service approaches and ensure technology advances are being utilized.  Be engaged with HRM’s diverse operations community and oversee the streamlining of work processes to maximize cost effective service delivery to the Operational Business Units.

You are an accomplished, passionate leader and strategic thinker.  You are well known as a collaborative, proactive executive who inspires a shared vision, builds high performing teams, drives for action and results and looks beyond traditional solutions.  Politically astute, a successful track record as a strategic communicator and as a concerted relationship builder and advisor in a multi-stakeholder environment are valuable assets.

You have a solid knowledge of corporate support service areas, an advanced degree or equivalent, along with 10 years of executive management experience with responsibility for fiscal accountability, strategic planning, business planning and innovation.  Previous experience in performance management and change management is a significant asset.
