Development Services Technician

(Planning Services, Permitting & Licensing)

The District of Peachland, a vibrant and growing community of approximately 5,400 located on the shores of Okanagan Lake between Kelowna and Penticton, is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Development Technician (Development Services, Permitting & Licensing).

This position responds to counter/telephone/email inquiries using available resources such as GIS; manages licensing programs including business licenses, secondary suites, sidewalk patio & seasonal vending licenses, sign permits and wharf & buoy encroachment agreements; processes technical development permits and supports administrative processes in the Planning and Development Services Department.

Qualifications:
  • Specialized education related to planning, development services and land use legislation
  • Accredited courses in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent knowledge
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and similar software preferred
  • One year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

The is a CUPE Local 608 position with a comprehensive benefits package and a rate of $31.23 per hour.
