After School Program Leaders

The West Vancouver Community Services Department is currently looking for two outgoing and energetic After School Program Leaders to join our team on a casual basis.
This position will strive to ensure the continued success of our after school program Something Cool after School, offered to students at Hollyburn and Chartwell Elementary. The program offers many activities, such as: art, sports, cooking, and field trips.  

The key accountabilities for this position include:

  • Tracking student attendance throughout the program
  • Demonstrating professionalism with student and parent interactions
  • Creating weekly activity schedules and supervising students during activities
  • Ensuring all proper documentation is completed and maintained, such as: student medical/feedback forms and student sign in/out sheets
  • Attending monthly group meetings and any other meetings as required
  • Ensuring student safety at all times by monitoring student activities and enforcing health and safety rules.

The preferred candidate will have: a well presented and professional demeanor; excellent communication skills; Emergency First Aid training and CPR level C; and an aptitude for handling groups of students.

The successful candidate has completed a grade 12 diploma and is required to supply a criminal record check and a copy of their credentials.

Position Status:
Non-Union – Casual

Hours of Work:
3 – 7 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Rate of Pay:
$19.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits
