We are looking for a proactive, dynamic, results-oriented professional with strong communication and organizational skills to join the Engineering, Parks and Environment team in a regular full-time position.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering Planning & Design, you will be responsible for the delivery of various transportation projects such as active transportation, safety and parking, and you will review and analyze other agencies transportation designs and projects, which may affect the City. You will manage the full cycle of these projects including project conception, consultation and design, preparation and tender documents, and manage the work undertaken by internal staff, consultants and contractors. You will also conduct transportation studies and prepare reports and recommendations for senior management and Council; initiate and organize public involvement on selected transportation projects and make presentations to the public; and, prepare and recommend new and revised transportation regulations, bylaws, policies and procedures.
You are either a Professional Engineer registered with EGBC, or will be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer within 6 months. You will also have several years’ experience with traffic and transportation engineering projects, parking management, and management of capital projects ranging in scale from small to large, preferably within a municipal environment. Strong analysis and design skills, a solid understanding of transportation programs and construction, supervisory experience and a Class 5 BC driver’s license are also required. Possession of a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) designation is an asset.
