Part-Time

Our Sport & Event Services Department has an exciting opportunity for part-time Arena/Stadium Attendants!  Utilize your knowledge and experience in arena and stadium operations to set up, maintain and repair arena/stadium surfaces and structures. 

As a strong communicator, team player, and problem-solver, you will interact with various user groups and provide excellent customer service.  The successful incumbents will require flexibility and versatility due to the nature of the position, which includes shift work and variety in work assignments.

Qualifications include:
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • 5th Class Power Engineering (Refrigeration Endorsement) or Refrigeration Operator Certificate (or the willingness to obtain within a 1-year period)
  • Related experience
  • Problem solving, customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Janitorial Certification (preferred but not required)
  • Pool Operators 1 & 2 certificate and experience would be considered an asset

Those candidates that do not hold their 5th Class Power Engineering (Refrigeration Endorsement) or Refrigeration Operator Certificate can be hired as Maintenance Person I which offers a salary of $26.98 per hour, plus 14% in lieu of benefits, vacation and statutory holidays.  It is expected that the incumbents will obtain their required certification within a 1-year period of employment.

These are CUPE bargaining unit positions and offer a salary of $28.49 per hour, plus 14% in lieu of benefits, vacation and statutory holidays.  Please note, a Criminal Record Check will be required if selected for interview.
