Labourer - Utilities (Operator in Training)

($26.25 per hour)


Applications are invited for the full-time position of Labourer (Operator in Training) – Utilities department.

The Labourer position is general labouring work of an unskilled or limited semi-skilled nature involving the performance of a variety of manual tasks related to maintenance, operation and construction work in a utilities setting. The position provides the necessary exposure to gain knowledge and experience that would enable advancement to an Operator’s position upon completion of 12 months on the job experience and required certification.

The position requires the ability to acquire and maintain a valid traffic control certificate and possession of a valid B.C. Driver’s licence (Class 5).

This position is a Union position and is subject to the terms and conditions in the collective agreement between District of North Saanich and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 374.
