We are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking planner to join our Parks, Recreation & Culture team. This role will support the City’s highly collaborative and skilled development review process. As a Planner 2, you will join the multidisciplinary Transit-Oriented Development Application Team (TODAT) as a representative for the Parks, Recreation, and Culture Services Department. You will work closely with other members of TODAT in supporting the team on park, recreation, and public space needs. Consistent with TODAT purpose, you will aid in implementing high quality urban design and creating great public places. You will be instrumental in facilitating development applications that will promote sustainable levels of park and recreation amenities to service current and future residents.
Your thorough knowledge of land-use planning is ideally demonstrate by having a degree in community planning or similar discipline such as landscape architecture, plus membership or eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and Planning Institute of B.C. Experience in urban design and park planning is considered an asset.
