Reporting to Senior Compensation Analyst, the Compensation Analyst conducts research, analyzes data and prepares reports and recommendations related to a broad range of human resources services including compensation and job evaluation. You will be responsible for full cycle job evaluation for bargaining unit and exempt positions; conducting job and organizational reviews and performing salary administration activities. You will represent the City in grievance meetings and at arbitrations on job classification and evaluation issues, participate in developing and delivering workshops to employees and managers and respond to ad hoc requests for information from other municipal employers, unions and external organizations.
Requirements include a University degree in a related field with courses in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Administration. Several years of experience working in Human Resources, preferably in a large unionized work environment, with a strong background in job analysis and evaluation is essential. Demonstrated ability to work with detailed analytical tasks which includes research, collecting and interpreting data and producing reports. Superior written and oral communication skills are a must to effectively communicate rationales during dispute proceedings. The ability to manage, coordinate and deliver multiple projects under tight timelines using planning and organizational skills are key. A commitment in establishing strong collaborative working relationships with clients and co-workers is a must.
