The West Vancouver Memorial Library is committed to fostering technical skills, digital literacy, digital content creation and computational literacy for learners of all ages. A digital life skills service model has been implemented to best achieve the following outcomes: 

  • Community members have open, equitable, reliable access to the Internet, digital resources,  hardware and software.
  • Community members develop fundamental technological skills integral to operating standard hardware and software and connecting to the Internet.
  • Community members feel able to apply their technological skills to navigate digital information and services.
  • Community members are inspired to use technology to pursue their interests and express their perspectives, and feel an increased sense of connectedness and inclusion in the digital age.
  • Community members are more likely to engage digitally with the Library, such as through use of selfservice Library technology and digital collections.


We are currently seeking an experienced podcast producer for Casual work between July and September 2019 to:

  • Assist the library in launching their podcast through consultation and staff support
  • Offer 1 – 2 public programs on podcasting and/or audio recording and editing


This position has the following objectives:

  • Connect with community members through events hosted at the library
  • Support the growth of and use of the library’s technologies and space
  • Share expertise with library staff through programs or documents
  • Create and deliver programs and workshops


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the launch of the Library’s podcast through recording and production
  • Advising on additional staff training on podcast creation
  • Offering at least one program for the public on podcasting, audio recording, editing, or another related digital content creation related topic
  • Sharing program lesson plans and training library staff to offer similar programs


The successful candidate will be required to supply a Police Information Check and a copy of their credentials.
