Facility Operations and Recreation Labourer

Up to 12 Auxiliary Positions
(June 17 – 28, 2019)

Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking multiple Facility Operations and Recreation Labourers who will be responsible for a variety of manual maintenance tasks during the building’s annual shutdown.  This includes cleaning and scrubbing different components of the building, stripping and waxing, tiling and grouting, power washing interior and exterior surfaces; and heavy lifting of equipment and supplies.

Requirements include: completion of Grade 10 or equivalent; one month related work experience; sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit performance of heavy manual work; satisfactory police information check and possession of WHIMIS certificate. The successful candidates will be required to attend orientation mid June and will work varying shifts including evenings, with full time hours (37.5 hours per week) from June 17 – 28, 2019.

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $26.76 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
