Landscape Technician

Temporary Full Time Position (Minimum 12 months)

The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced Landscape Technician to join our Parks Division.  This position is responsible for undertaking field investigation and research, drawings and specification preparation, cost estimating, inspections during park construction, and other duties related to planning, design and construction for parks and public open spaces.  

Requirements include a two year Diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology or other similar program; two years of directly related parks experience; experience and skill in computer aided design, especially Auto-Cad, Adobe Creative Suite or a comparable computerized landscape program and other landscape graphics related software; familiarity with relevant provisions of municipal, provincial and federal acts, bylaws, regulations and safety standards; valid BC Driver’s Licence and possession of a private automobile available for work-related use as and when required.  Candidates with a combination of education and experience may be considered.

This is a C.U.P.E.
