The City of Coquitlam’s Parks Division is currently recruiting for two Irrigation Systems Workers. This is a CUPE local 386 position.
The work involves developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for all sports field and landscape irrigation systems, checking the operation of and performing maintenance on a variety of irrigation systems and performing repair and replacement tasks such as overhauling and rebuilding sprinkler heads and valves.
You will be part of the Sport Services team, supporting over 45 sport field irrigation systems as well as irrigation in the horticultural beds and turf in parks, on medians and boulevards and for our street tree program. You will have considerable practical experience and committed to the delivery of a high level of customer service to the community. Experience in developing water management plans and measuring water consumption of irrigation systems to meet targets would be an asset.
The ideal candidate will have a completion of the tenth school grade supplemented by technical courses in irrigation systems maintenance plus considerable related experience. You must possess an A.W.W.A. Cross Connection Control Certificate and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
The City is offering a salary of $35.08 per hour, an excellent benefits package and compressed work week.
