The City of Coquitlam is recruiting for a Sub-Foreman – Mowing to join our Landscape Services Team. This is a CUPE Local 386 position.
Working in the Landscape Services Team, you will be responsible for the turf care of local parks and streetscapes. You will operate a variety of mowers including riding mowers, truck and single axle trailer and other related equipment. You will perform routine supervisory work during the growing season involving the supervision of a small group of subordinates engaged in mowing and related simple lawn maintenance tasks.
You will provide a high level of service excellence to the public in maintaining local parks and streetscapes and this position will work on boulevards and medians along busy City roads in addition to park sites; you must be comfortable working alongside traffic.
The ideal candidate will have a completion of the tenth school grade, a course in passive turf health or maintenance, and sound experience in mowing and related parks operations or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
The CUPE hourly rate of $30.81 per hour is offered, plus a competitive benefits package and compressed work week.
