Facility Host

Up to 10 Auxiliary Relief Positions

The District of Saanich is looking for Facility Hosts to work at various off-site locations such as Gordon Head Middle School, Colquitz Middle School & Royal Oak Middle School. The Facility Host will meet and greet patrons, monitor safe use of the facilities and provide a supportive role in emergency situations.  Under the direction of a Recreation Programmer, the Facility Host reviews the facility schedule and any materials provided by the Programmer, picks up keys from the recreation centre, opens and closes the facility as required and assists instructors in the preparation of the room and equipment.  

Requirements include: completion of Grade 10; two months experience working in a public service capacity in a recreation facility; satisfactory police information check and Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C.  The successful candidates will work varying shifts including evenings, weekends and nights, up to 15 hours per week (hours/shifts are subject to change).

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $17.44 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
