Utility Technician Coordinator
Living the Dream
The Sunshine Coast is a thriving BC community of approximately 30,000 year-round residents situated on a peninsula between Howe Sound and Jervis Inlet in the traditional homeland of the shíshálh and Skwxwú7mesh First Nations. Tourists from all over the world travel here to take in the beautiful sights and surroundings. You too can make this place your home and experience first-hand what locals refer to as ‘living the dream’.
Known for its mild winters, beautiful surroundings, arts, culture, and friendly people, the Sunshine Coast is a preferred tourist destination and a great place to live and play. Golfing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, boating, swimming, or spending time as one of ‘the beachcombers’, we have it all here. Fiber arts, written arts, rolling arts, and virtually any hobby or interest you might have, we have all of that here too. Those that really love the snow and the cold can always head on up to Dakota Ridge in the winter and enjoy some cross-country skiing, do some sledding, or put on some snow shoes and go for a hike along the amazing trails.
Really find yourself in need of some of “city life” every once in a while? A short 40 minute ferry ride gets you across the water to the world class city of Vancouver, BC, with all the shopping, arts, and entertainment a big city provides.
The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is looking for an expert who is up for a challenge, and ready to take his or her career to the next level. The Utility Technician Coordinator performs operations, maintenance and monitoring tasks as required at the SCRD’s Class IV water treatment facilities and Class III water distribution facilities, and provides technical advice and work direction to a team of professional Utility Technicians.
You and your team ensure that our community enjoys a continuous supply of treated potable water with service delivery standards that meet or exceed the expectations of our customers and are maintained in accordance with the appropriate regulatory and licencing requirements. This bargaining unit position has a wage rate of $40.77 per hour and includes a robust benefit package upon the successful completion of a four month probationary period.
