The City of Port Coquitlam is seeking an energetic individual to join our team in as an Irrigation Systems Worker in our Parks Services Division. The successful applicant will be responsible for the City’s sports fields and passive area irrigation systems as well as assisting in the maintenance of turf areas. . Tasks include: routine maintenance on a variety of irrigation systems including repair and replacement tasks such as overhauling and rebuilding sprinkler heads and valves; maintenance and repair tasks to turf areas and sports fields; and monitoring contractors’ turf and irrigation work. Additionally, the incumbent in this role provides enhanced customer service by maintaining our field closure website and by building and maintaining strong relationships with our user groups.

The successful candidate for this position will have post-secondary education in both irrigation and turf management plus 2 years’ experience including establishment, grading, irrigation, drainage and maintenance.

The rate of pay for this unionized position is $32.35 per hour (2015 rates) based on a 40-hour work week which includes working on weekends.
